Summary
All his life, Pugsley has been told he's a changeling. Any time he does something not quite Addams, its because of that.
One night, after the final straw, Pugsley decides to do something about it. If he's a changeling then he'll just go back to the fae wild where maybe someone will actually want him.
What he gets instead is deal after deal with the king of the unseelie and a web he can't seem to find his way out of.
Kept as a pet, used for the court's sick amusement, he's trapped for eternity....only something begins to change. The king is growing softer with him and he finds in himself something almost like fondness for the fae in return.
But is fondness enough to free him or is it just another twisted game? -

The seas have always been home to the depraved and gold hungry. Those that roam the waters like wolves. They paled in comparison to the driven cruelty and bloodlust of the dreaded Draugr. The white flag means nothing to the Devil's Grin or its mad captain. No one lives once its colors are struck. The Draugr scours the seas in search of something known only to himself.
Young Pugsley Addams, son of Governor Addams, had heard of the fearsome pirate, had developed an interest in the stories, but thought nothing of it. After all, whatever the man, if that's what he was, was searching for it wasn't wealth. He felt no apprehension about sailing to meet the suitor his grandmother had found for him, just a sense of boredom and annoyance. That would change as night fell.

Wordlessly, Evy looks back over at Jonathan and Ardeth.
“If you think about it, I'm doing them a favour. Jewellery never looks quite right on dead people,” Jonathan is saying, flicking his wrist in comic disdain. A drop of whisky lurches forcefully from his glass and lands on Ardeth’s thigh, and Jonathan leans forward to pat it dry with his jacket sleeve. “Terribly sorry, old boy. I get a bit animated after a finger or two of the good stuff.”
Ardeth’s eyes are very, very wide indeed.
“Jesus, you’re right,” says Rick.
After 20 years of being subjected to more yearning than any sister should ever have to witness, Evy decides that enough's enough.

“I’ve had worse,” O’Connell says grimly, shifting his aim to the Americans’ dreadful guide instead.
Evy’s brother shifts his pistol just a little higher too and agrees, “Yeah, me too.”
The look O’Connell gives him is so disbelieving that, regardless of her other thoughts on him, it makes Evy want to scream. She knows that Jonathan is insouciant and frequently irresponsible, a drunk at best and a thief at worst. But she also knows that her brother fought in the war, just the same as O’Connell and Beni and probably even the Americans. She knows that he came home different from the boy who left when he was only twenty-two.
