Summary
“What do you think he’ll be like?” Arthur asks, quiet enough that only Morgana hears him.
“I’ve heard he’s rather handsome,” Morgana replies, a sly smirk stretching her lips.
Arthur can’t contain the blush that reddens his cheeks. When Morgana had confessed her magic to him, Arthur had thought it appropriate to share a secret of his with her. Clearly telling her he preferred men to women had been a bad idea. As much as he loves Morgana, she’s a real harpy sometimes. Arthur tells her as much, earning a loud snort from her.
They both stiffen though, when the visiting king’s party appears on the road leading to the courtyard. Arthur assumes that the man riding at the head of the group must be king Merlin. Even from this distance, Arthur can tell he rides more gracefully than most. As the foreign king finally enters the courtyard flanked by two of his knights, Arthur has to hold back a gasp. ‘Rather handsome’ can’t even start to describe how beautiful king Merlin is.

Summary
The sky is covered in rain clouds. Dark and heavy they hang from the heavens, promising muddy shoes and clammy skin.
Tonight is the night.Merlin takes a deep breath and smells the life within the air. It won’t be long until this same breeze will smell of death and blood. Instead of laughter or silent anticipation, he will hear the screams of his slaughtered enemies and tend to the wounds of his men. It will smell like victory. It will be the end of a century-old war.
Magic is trickling down his veins, reminding him of the promise to his father. Tonight is the night that Camelot will fall. He clenches his fists. Tonight is the night that he will finally kill Arthur Pendragon.
Alternatively: Merlin and Arthur are Kings from enemy kingdoms. Just when they are about to kill each other, their bodies are switched and they have to pretend to be negotiating peace.

Summary
The knights of the round table go out on a hunt, and surprise, surprise they encounter bandits. Captured and placed inside an old derelict castle's oubliette the king, knights and Merlin are chained in cold iron and left until the ransom arrives back. Going off how Merlin looks, they won't have that long.
