“I don’t know what I’m doing here,” she sighs into the receiver.
“Following your dreams?” Jonathan offers.
They quickly got into the habit of calling each other to talk. Because of course. There’s no one else she can talk to like Jonathan. She doesn’t even remember how it started, who called who first. Just that it’s become such a habit that she’s had to explain to her roommate Josie many times that no Jonathan isn’t her boyfriend but her ex. And she’s pretty sure the rest of the dorm resents her for hogging one of the two phones on their floor for like an hour almost every night.
“I’m not so sure this is where they are. That this is the place for me.”
