    Summary

When he looks down, he's met with the sight of Aventurine looking up at him, pupils blown wide and tongue darting out to wet his lips. "We could play a little," the absolute vixen whispers. "Please?"

Ratio doesn't answer immediately. Instead, he tips his head back to stare at the roof, traces the subtle patterns there as he fights to think beyond anything that isn't libido-induced recklessness. Technically, they aren't working right this moment. They're dressed plainly, and they blend in with the crowd of city residents and tourists alike. Nobody seems to be paying any attention to them — and if anyone has looked their way, it must have been brief.

Heart pounding in his ears, Ratio lowers his head and can't quite meet Aventurine's eyes when he breathes out — "Alright."

While waiting for Business Matters TM to resume, Ratio and Aventurine go sight-seeing. ... but Aventurine decides, instead, he wants to torment Ratio today.

    Summary

“I thought you weren’t at all upset about any of this?”

    “I’m not,” Al-Haitham insists. Stubborn.

“Well, what happened then? Surely something’s bothering you, or else you wouldn’t be moving your things back and forth in the same spot like that.”

Al-Haitham’s eyes drop to his hands, between them a box filled with little trinkets—souvenirs from his trips to the desert, no doubt, gleaming gem stones and jagged blocks of stone, the old runes on them barely legible from erosion. Al-Haitham sighs.

“Nothing happened,” he begins, slow and measured, “I’m just looking for something.”

The morning after their return to Sumeru City, Al-Haitham’s cover of nonchalance is blown for good.

“Ma’am,” Phainon calls again, dangling his blue pen in front of her face like a pendulum to get her attention. She jolts, eyes refocusing into his. Cute, despite being at least a decade older than he is; tired, because of the weight of that very same decade.

“Sorry,” she finally replies, her fingers touching his hand when she finally takes the pen. “It’s just-” She gives a little embarrassed laugh, but she's still devouring him with sweet honey golden eyes, like she can’t believe he’s here. Phainon doesn't mind. “You really look like my husband.” She laughs again, and signs her name at the bottom of the receipt in ink blue cursive—Mydeimos C. Kremnos.

Phainon makes an effort to remember it for no particular reason.

    Summary

On a flight to Fontaine, Kaveh gets mysteriously upgraded to first class beside an annoyingly handsome alpha who smells like the very essence of the heavens. Kaveh, however, has never willingly given an alpha the time of day, and he's certainly not about to start now.

    Probably.

    Maybe.

Except why does this one smell so damn good?!

As Kaveh made his way to row 3 seat B, the woodsy, petrichor-rich scent he’d assumed was some expensive air freshener in the airport terminal filled his senses far more strongly.

... The alpha. Seated in row 3, seat A.

Kaveh stopped so abruptly the passenger walking behind him stumbled into his carry-on.

His gaze collided with the alpha’s once more. From up close, the ocean hidden within those devastatingly beautiful eyes felt endless, inviting him toward depths he was already drowning in - instantly overcome by the dizzying sensation of falling from a cliff overlooking the vast, expansive sea.
