“I’m afraid not,” Mu Qingfang says, shaking his head. “A curse of compulsion, with dire consequences for disobedience… I’ve heard of many similar things, but not exactly this.”
“For all we know, the perpetrator invented this little trap just for us,” Shen Qinqiu says, tapping his fan dangerously. “Tailormade to ruin us.”
“I have no secrets to hide,” Liu Qingge says, and lifts his chin challengingly at Shen Qingqiu, who bristles in return. “Do you?”
“Ah, Liu-shidi, if you don’t have any secrets then you should get some real quick!” Shang Qinghua says with bright, manic cheer, his smile and his eyes a little too wide. “The consequences for not meeting the curse’s requirements would be very very bad!”

Galacta Knight resolves to give in, just this once, and cracks open an eye with feigned disinterest. “Then why did you show up at such an obviously inopportune time.”
“Because,” the knight says, without a hint of derision, still in his absolutely insufferable tone. “You’ll miss the firework show if you go to the other side and stay there all night, like usual. You’ll be facing the opposite direction.”
The warrior falters at that unexpectedly, his other eye snapping open and his expression twisting in bewilderment, first at the fact that the other has been keeping close enough tabs on him to know that, and second—
“Fireworks?"
What in the stars is a firework?

“It doesn’t matter because there’s no way for me to figure it out.” Meta Knight wraps the dimensional cape tighter around himself. It doesn’t bring the same comfort that it used to. With Galacta Knight so close to him, some of the faint splattering of stars return to the fabric. “You must be able to understand that.”
Galacta Knight frowns at him with deep confusion. “But you can. It’s not even that hard.” When Meta Knight just sits and stares at him, eyes narrowed and brows knitted beneath his mask, Galacta Knight latches onto his wrist and pulls him towards the window. “C’mon, I’ll show you.”

This is way too beautiful and magic not to bookmark 🥺 Wonderful character interaction, lore, emotion, and writing style ✨The 'Starbound' race lore surrounding the warp stars and stars of creations is rly cool, sprinkled in between some lovely appreciation for our favorite dark knight from his friends/family/favorite sparring partners 💙🎂 some fun Latin in between to add that ancient history flair that is present in the kirby series. Always worth a reread 👌
