Summary
Nina is a ballerina in a prestigious company. She has been dancing since she was five. Her mother, Elena, is a former ballerina who gave up her career to raise Nina. Elena lives through her daughter. She controls what Nina eats, when she sleeps, and how she spends her time. Nina is obedient and perfect. She does not know how to be anything else. She is cast as the Swan Queen in a new production. The director, Thomas, tells her that she is perfect for the White Swan. But he needs to see the Black Swan. He needs to see her dark side. Nina does not know how to show it.
