Summary
Shadow Milk Cookie’s has a detachable head. How did Pure Vanilla Cookie know this? Well, one early morning when he opened his closet to get dressed, there was his head on top of his robes. He felt his heart plummet down to his feet and felt a cold tingle in his shoulders. He slowly raised his hand to cradle his cheek; to both confirm that it was Shadow Milk’s head and that he was not actually dreaming.
“Shadow Milk?” Pure Vanilla asked quietly, feeling his cold dough against his hand.
Shadow Milk’s eyes were closed, and just as Pure Vanilla brushed his closed lid with his thumb did Pure Vanilla hear a large thump from behind him.
Pure Vanilla yelped loudly as arms wrapped around his waist, and suddenly Shadow Milk’s eyes (the ones in his face and hair) snapped open. He grinned mischievously up at him and crackled with cruel delight.
“Oh Nilly!” He exclaimed. “The look on your face is priceless!”

Shadow Milk didn’t answer right away. He didn’t speak, didn’t move, he just stood there with his hands fisted together tightly at his sides. Then, slowly, he looked up.
Their eyes met.
Shadow Milk’s expression was carefully blank, but his eyes gave him away. Tired. Uneasy. Like he’d been awake far too long with thoughts that wouldn’t leave him alone.
That was all Pure Vanilla needed to see.

Shadow Milk, taking Eternal Sugar’s advice, tries to think more positively about the other Beasts writing him back. Though it’s more difficult than he’d originally thought, the only Beast he’s heard back from is Eternal Sugar Cookie. His arms, almost completely healed and no longer itchy made it a bit worse- he never realized how much the itching distracted him. To keep from relapsing he goes to multiple cookies to distract him. And after a horrific nightmare, Shadow Milk has a.. interesting conversation with Pure Vanilla.
