Summary
The year following the fact that Gomez was murdered in cold blood within his own home, Wednesday in her 30’s, musician and author under the name of Victoria Blackwood, has turned into a self-loathing alcoholic due to the unbearable grief of losing her father. As a result, her career has been nothing but stagnant and her marriage with Enid, over a decade years old, is crumbling to pieces right before their eyes thanks to Wednesday’s constant instability.
However, Enid is not going anywhere. Enid, who grew up in a household where love and manipulation wore the same clothing, has spent her whole life believing that suffering is simply the price of being loved.
She romanticises every cruelty Wednesday inflicts upon her, seeing violence as passion, neglect as depth, pain as proof that she matters. When Wednesday hits her, Enid does not see a line crossed.
