He doesn’t feel like a SOLDIER right now. Doesn’t feel like much of anything, of anyone. Scooped out and left as a hollow splatter on the concrete. He doesn’t want any of this, doesn't want to be touched or helped or spoken to or seen at all. He wants to stand up and walk away and fix it himself. He wants to be left alone to die. Summary
After the raid on the Emerald Grove ends with the slaughter of the tieflings, Gale finds himself disgusted for helping and wants to leave the party. Their group's leader isn't so keen on letting him go and is willing to do anything to keep the wizard by his side.
Astarion doesn't care either way about the tieflings or the wizard. At least, that's what he tells himself. But when he sees an all to familiar relationship start to form between their leader and Gale, the spawn can't stop himself from getting involved.
