Summary
Akira Kurusu didn't expect to be running Leblanc straight out of high school, but with Sojiro retiring and leaving him the cafe, he finds himself calling it home once again. Under his calm demeanor, he aches to do more good. His hands feel empty without a dagger, and he struggles to fall into a normal adult life. Then rumors of an unidentified man who drowned on dry land going missing from the hospital start circulating...
Goro Akechi is unrecognizable from the man he was a year ago. Every mirror he passes is a reminder of his fall from grace, every mention of the missing detective prince sending ice down his spine. But worst of all? He has to rely on Akira for help once again, and he can always feel his companion's eyes on him. With Shido out of the picture, he struggles to find purpose in the life he's now forced to live.
Aigis is the only one she knows who remembers the events of a year ago. The only one who remembers the warmth of his hand and his soft, tired smile as he stood by her, nearly a decade after his death. After a year of searching, she finds herself at an unassuming cafe on the backstreets of Tokyo. She's looking for an Answer that even a retired criminal and detective will have trouble finding.

Summary
Akira Kurusu is, by all means, a smart person.
He had always topped his class despite all the rumors that he was a gruesome murderer; he was not only the leader of the infamous Phantom Thieves, but he was also one of their main strategists. He had learned shogi and chess at the same time, despite how different and strange his mentors were. He was even able to land a good university despite his record!
While he knows that he isn’t Makoto-level booksmart and not Goro-level streetsmart, he knows that he isn’t stupid. Though everyone has flaws. And that includes Akira.
He’s quite stupid when it comes to love.
“I think Goro wants to break up with me.”
Ann chokes.
(Or. Akira thinks Goro wants to break up with him. Goro is stressing over the proposal. Ann is tired of her best friends.)
