He expects something aggressive from Keith. A growl and a painful shove towards the door, a voice raised high in a ‘get the hell out of my room, Lance!’. A slap to the face. Or something.
What he doesn’t expect is this:
“Lance…” Keith breathes out, sounding even more uninhibited than he did through the wall between their rooms. Lance watches as the boy’s eyes flutter closed for a brief second before opening again, dark eyelashes fanning over his flushed cheeks. “C’mere… Please…”
Here’s the thing about Lance: he’s a people pleaser. Ever since he was little, he couldn’t turn down a single plea for help or a request from anyone that he liked in any capacity. He liked helping people, he liked being useful, he liked doing things for others.
Here’s another thing about Lance: he’s hopelessly in love with Keith.
So, when the boy his heart is yearning for is writhing on the bed and begging for Lance to come closer, he has no other choice but to obey.

Summary
Allura is a resonable person. She pays her bills on time, she doesn't pick up things in the grocery store that she doesn't need, and she absolutely is not going to fall in love with her co-worker. Especially when she's technically their boss and that would be a HR mess waiting to happen. But when Romelle comes into work wearing cute heart shaped sunglasses and adorable pink shoes that give her an extra four inches of height at least, it becomes a little harder to keep her head steady.
or Allura is absolutely blind to a certain someone hiting on her, Romelle tries very hard to get a girlfriend out of an oblivious person, and Shiro sits back to watch his best friend fall in love with a bag of popcorn. Metaphorically.

Let Keith be the first to tell you that everything they say about college is a lie. Particularly the whole “you’ll be able to choose your own schedule” bullshit because that could not be farther from the truth. In your first couple years, sure, but once you start getting into the more specialized courses in your program? You’ll be lucky if they offer certain classes once a year.
That was how Keith wound up with an 8:30 a.m. measurements lab his junior year of college despite not being a morning person in the slightest. And to make matters worse, they were assigned lab partners by drawing straws on the first day, which was how Keith got stuck with none other than Lance McClain as his lab partner for the entire semester. Loud, boisterous, friendly, attractive Lance, who was everything Keith was trying to avoid.

"My name's Keith, by the way," Knight In Tight Denim-no, Keith says and holds out his hand to shake. Lance fist bumps him. Mortification sweeps through him and he closes his eyes, swearing under his breath in spanish.
"Thank you for the advice," he stutters out and Keith nods, settling his headphones back on his ears. He takes off to the left but Lance can see Hunk to the right, glaring at him with all of his might. Lance takes one last look at Keith, staring more at his perfect butt than at his back, listening to the pins on his bag jingle as he leaves Lance to die of embarrassment. He turns to the right.
or; Lance goes to work at Voltron, the new and rising youtube company and gets the best job at the price of the worst crush on someone who has a lovely girlfriend, and has zero interest. Or so he thinks.

Summary
Shiro and Keith's relationship grew in stages. Strangers, mentor-mentee, reluctant freinds, best friends and then finally family. Shiro knew, to a certain degree, that Keith had seen the stages end, broken and frayed, when he was captures by the Galra and presumed dead by the Garrison. He never really thought about it. What it would be like to live with the memories of someone you knew for too little time, alone and watching as the strings cut between you.
It sucks, honestly.
