    Abolish had never given much thought to worries of gender or sexuality. For one, sex was the least of his worries; he had neither the time or the will for that. For two, he had a job to do, and that alone kept him occupied enough that he didn't have time to think about meaningless things.

    The woods around him are spinning, contorting in a ballet of nausea-inducing tricks of the eye. He feels woozy, his legs getting numb and his thoughts incomprehensible, nullified, sticky like cotton dipped in honey. His ears are ringing, high pitched and filled with pressure. Pressure that collects in his skull: inbetween his eyes, in his temples, in his jaw. It sends stars into his swirling vision, white bright lights accompanied by black foam, covering more and more of his eyesight.

    An uneasy hot-cold flashes through him, a thick and wrong feeling in his throat. Sweat slicks his skin; his eyes are glossed again with tears. His head lags, his feet stumble. He throws a hand out as nausea tugs at his intestines, throws a hand and gropes blindly for something sturdy. It catches rough bark—weird, warm, and painful under his numb palm.
