Summary
It wasn't supposed to happen that way. Eda was meant to succumb to her curse and be easy pickings. Instead, when she sacrificed her magic to save Luz, her life ended. As Luz escapes with the body, Lilith is brought before Emperor Belos. Lilith is given an ultimatum: take the human under her wing, turn her to their ways and discover how she came to the Boiling Isles; or face execution. But things never turn out the way Lilith intends and Luz just might bring out a better side of her. Or being harassed by Eda's ghost might drive her insane.

Amity Blight just wanted to be a normal human girl, not the daughter of the richest couple in Connecticut, weighed down by her Mother’s expectations. Chasing after an owl that stole one of her only outlets from that life leads her to the Boiling Isles, where she’s pretty sure she’s forever lost her chance to be normal, but she supposes she can handle being weird instead.

Humor, drama, fluff, and a considerable amount of changes to the story as we know it.

Summary
Luz warps from a deep sea of dead things and illusions to wake in her reality. She sees and hears the Titan speak. She becomes « special », by pure, random chance. A chosen one of sorts, like she would have once wanted.
Only for that one naive wish to be marred by the stained hands of the ones that were once before her.
Includes awesome(?) eldritch powers, consequences of actions hitting you like a cascading sac of bricks, and overly deep magic-worldbuilding.
Rated mature because of the litteral depiction of the naturally dark setting of the Boiling Isles, that can become unforgiving and cruel. See the Archive Warnings. You’ve been warned.
This fic starts just at the end of S2e10 because that’s when it began to be written.
