Then he had started to be able to remember bits and pieces as they progressed, a whispering, echoing voice that spoke as if from directly in his mind, a feeling of safety and awe, a promise of community.

When III had first brought up the idea of making some home movies of the three of them, they had had a long talk about it and had set some ground rules.
One was that it would have all three of them in it, no one off to the side playing director or giving commentary.
Two was that it was to not be recorded on a phone; although it would be the easiest to just grab in the moment there was too big of a risk of it accidentally being uploaded on the cloud, which none of them wanted. Since that was out, he had offered to go out and rent an entire setup for it; a professional grade video camera, lights, the whole shebang, but II had immediately shot that down.

But no one came, his captors laughing at his distress as the trees grew closer together until the moon itself was blocked out.This was it. Some psychos grabbed him off the streets when he was walking home, threw him in a van, and were going to kill him.
