Summary
Willow Hayes fixes androids no one else wants.
Her shop, Hayes Android Repair & Salvage, sits on the edge of Detroit’s industrial sprawl, taking in obsolete units, illegal mods, and machines everyone else has already written off. She doesn’t ask many questions-until she pulls a barely functioning android out of a dumpster and realizes he’s one of eight prototypes from the long-discontinued SKZ line.
Built to be too adaptive, too emotional, too human, the SKZ androids were quietly scattered once CyberLife decided they were a liability. Willow finds them one by one, each damaged in ways that go far beyond faulty parts, and repairs them anyway. In the process, her shop becomes something more than a workplace and Willow finds herself at the center of a bond she never intended to form.
CyberLife buried its mistake.
Willow refuses to let them stay broken.

Your phone battery hovered at 12%. Your fingers ached from pulling espresso shots all day. The snippet of the song you posted had barely cracked a hundred plays and half of those were probably you, second-guessing every word, criticizing the pitchiness of your voice, and half considering deleting it.
Still, you wrote. Because that’s what you did when the world felt too loud and your life felt too small. When you didn’t know where to go or if you would stay afloat, still, you wrote. When you felt like you should just quit and head back home, you wrote.

I just want to preface this by stating that in no way do I believe this is truly how the boys behave behind closed doors or otherwise. I adore them and just wanted to write something menacing and fun featuring the eight of them. Thank you for reading.
