After Planarcadia, things are... strangely peaceful.
Ren's hands have finally healed.
What starts as an offhand promise—one Silver Wolf had long since stopped expecting him to keep—turns into an impromptu Mario Kart night aboard the Stellaron Hunters' ship. Silver Wolf is determined to prove her gaming superiority, Firefly gets dragged into the chaos almost immediately, and Kafka joins mostly because she finds the entire situation entertaining.
Between character-selection debates, questionable driving decisions, and Silver Wolf's increasingly detailed explanations of Mario Kart strategy, the Stellaron Hunters spend an evening doing something they rarely get the chance to do:

Summary
Yunli has her back to them when they enter, stir frying vegetables in a wok. Without prompting, Ren goes into the kitchen to get the dishes and set the table. The menacing aura approaching silently from behind has Yunli instinctively spinning around, smoothly drawing her sword in the same motion.
“Eh?” she says, finding her blade at a strange man’s throat.
Ren blinks back at her, hands relaxed at his sides, unthreatening.
“Ah, Yunli, I’ve brought a guest for dinner. This is Ren,” Huaiyan tells her nonchalantly.

Summary
Blade tries his best to find some meaning in his never-ending life. After all, his funeral is many Amber Eras away. There is too much time on his hands, so he may as well spend it wisely with his companions.
Life is not always cruel, much to his surprise. But even if it were, Blade thinks he can still find it in himself to live for them.
Perhaps that is what love means, though it is buried beneath the resentment he knows he has to feel. And he tries to keeps it a secret, but a small wistful part of him — free from the Mara and intrusive thoughts — wishes that he could be worthy enough to be the devoted husband he once was.

Blade takes a stroll through Planarcadia's morning market, confronted with all different kinds of craftsmanship he remembers his past in painful detail. Dan Heng notices and decides to buy some Art supplies. For no reason at all, of course.
