“You’re too pure.” He paused, took in her flushed appearance, then grinned lecherously. “Except you’re messed up, aren’t you? He’s under your skin.”
“I’ve never been so close to someone who hasn’t got it, Toro.”
He was standing between her and her room. She tried to edge past, but he stuck out an arm, leaving her crammed against the wall of the dark corridor they shared.
“Yeah? What’s it like?”
“My balls are even bluer than yours.”
Post-apocalyptic fantasy in a D&D-inspired world whose denizens are cursed to endless magical lust without relief, unless some unlikely heroes can save them.

“You good?” there was a slight edge to her voice that I couldn’t read. Maybe she thought I was about to drag trouble in with me.

I picked up the beer but found myself wavering. “I don’t want to be any trouble…”
That earned me an impatient snort. I watched Bree’s nostrils flare in amusement. “This is a bar. I have ice.”
So told, I limped my way painfully over toward the nominated booth. The nape of my neck tingled and I paused, suddenly imagining big dark eyes fixed to my back, imagined the predatory interest there - a lion watching a wounded gazelle. I shivered and didn’t look back until I was safely ensconced in the booth’s seat.
