Lily folds in on herself, quick to deflect and quick to laugh. "Look, whether you come back or not, it's your choice. But you've got something special, Nina. It'd be a shame if you never danced again."
Nina exhales. It's shaky, but there. Lily's pretty, pretty mouth immediately widens in a smile. Not her usual knowing smirk but something softer, almost innocent.
"Just think about it, okay?"
"Okay." Nina agrees, easy as that. As if anything could happen, if only Lily asked for it.

She feels like she can’t breathe, can’t speak, can’t look at anyone anymore. Counting doesn’t help, and neither does thinking of something else because Janis is still talking and she won’t stop, like rubbing it in is the only thing bringing her joy.
It’s motivational, sure, but it’s also making Regina hyperventilate and feel like the room is somehow running out of air even though everyone else seems fine.
