Summary
The Fused wanted Kaladin alone. Had for a while now. And this time they got their wish.
Struck by a horrifying new anti-light weapon, he is left broken, bleeding and dying as something dark burns its way through his body. Surviving should have been a victory, but the nightmare follows him home.

He thought he could handle it. Thought he could push through his problems with a smile in place.
But he can't. He's not strong enough for it.
He's defiantly not strong enough to keep seeing the look of hurt on his family's faces. A look he, himself put there with just his mare existence. He should leave, it'll be easier for everyone involved.
He's easily replaceable anyway.

Bucky drops the shield on the floor and crawls over Steve’s legs to collapse on top of him, tucks his face under Steve’s chin and exhales. “Jesus fucking Christ.”

The Soldier has killed presidents and priests, drug lords and diplomats, people with small armies to protect them and people who could make him break a sweat as they fought for their lives. He has shaped the century.
These are facts, not memories.
But he knows this is nothing, this mission. Follow a lone man around the city. Break into his apartment. Watch and observe.
“Yes,” he says.
“Guess Pierce was right. This is ironic. Fucking poetic even.” Rumlow snorts. “Barnes is a supersoldier. You’re the only one who can take care of him, isn’t that right, Cap?”
That is not the Soldier’s designation. He nods anyway.

The exorcism of Dalinar’s own son—Adolin Kholin, who died in a mysterious accident, and now can’t pass onto the Beyond.
But along their efforts, they will realise they’ve been wrong about this entire case and there’s something mysterious about Adolin’s spirit that they can’t solve.
