Summary
Edward Teach is out for a midnight stroll when he stops in front of St. James Palace to light a cigarette. There's an oddly compelling guard standing sentry. Ed gets to talking to him, and it becomes a habit.
His lungs burn a little, and he blows the smoke out with a porny sort of moan and of course that’s when he notices that there’s a guard in the box, and that he’s blown smoke right into his face.
“Oh, fuck, sorry, mate,” he says, waving it away. Of course the guard doesn’t say anything. Doesn’t even flinch, just stares straight ahead, like Ed’s not there, waving his hands in the air like a madman. Only not quite like Ed’s not there. There’s an unmistakable twinkle in his eye. Huh.

Stede has always longed to see the Northern Lights, but never had the chance to go during his marriage as Mary hated vacationing anywhere cold. With his father’s retirement looming, Stede only has a small window of time to achieve his dream before he’s tied down to his responsibility to the Bonnet family legacy. He sets out on an impulsive and woefully unprepared trip to Finland to see the Northern Lights and perhaps discover something about himself along the way.
Edward Teach moved to Finland years ago for a change of scenery and to get away from… well, he doesn’t like thinking about it. His tour business is successful, and he’s proud to earn a living showing off all the wonderful things about the place he calls home now. Although, maybe, if he’s being honest, he’s just a bit lonely? Still, no time to dwell on that since it’s his busiest season, and one of the best times of year for his biggest moneymaker - snowmobile tours to view the Northern Lights.

Summary
Stede is an inexperienced Pirate Captain who doesn't believe that the Kraken exists. To prove this to his crew, he invites the mythical sea creature to take him, body and soul, not expecting to get any real response. However he ends up getting far more than he bargained for as he learns just what this strange creature (called Ed) can do with its tentacles. When it tells Stede that it wants a vessel, Stede presumes this just means more mind-blowing sex, not expecting to become an actual vessel to contain the monsters eggs. Can whatever feelings that have developed between the two survive this huge misunderstanding?
