Summary
Inspired by an AU prompt from Twitter user Tiger21.
Zoey is struggling. Work sucks, life is a constant drag, and even her hobby as a streamer feels more like work than fun at times. One of her only real comforts is her favourite artist, Rumi, seems to be moving into a new era, one Zoey is excited to follow. So, when a chatter starts to help with her cash flow problems, maybe a little give and take is fair play? When her friend Mira comes back into her life, and with this new bit of fun on the horizon, maybe things are starting to look up?
Rumi is finally free. After years of struggling under the light and airy image the studio had chained her to, her contract is over, and she can make the music she wants, do the things she wants, and she can stop putting on the performance. When one of her only real outlets, a small streamer who seems to be a fan that she has found herself watching time and time again, admits to having money problems, she doesn't think twice about throwing cash at the issue. When it starts to become more than that, she starts to hope that maybe this new chapter in her life will have some new characters too.

…Okay, she could do this.
She had been so normal for the past few days. And Mira and Zoey hadn’t freaked out about her being a half-demon—not after the Idol Awards incident, at least. Which was promising!
Sure, she had accidentally snuck up on Zoey with her too-light footsteps yesterday, making her spill chips all over the couch. And then Zoey got really quiet and just stared at her for an uncomfortably long moment after Rumi flashed her a sympathetic smile. Which was odd.
Sure, Mira had been looking at Rumi’s hands a lot, like she was expecting to see claws again, but Rumi tried to not let that get to her head!

Discipline. It was hard to stop herself when Zoey moved like that, when she said Mira's name like that–desperate, pleading–but now that Mira thought on it, she was curious.
"It's–I mean, y'know, it's just that–" Zoey talked fast, all the words riding one breath like she was afraid she wouldn't have time for another– "have you noticed" –and the blush returned, even more obvious now that Zoey couldn't hide her face–
She swallowed.
"Have you noticed Rumi's got fangs now?"

Summary
They had sat Rumi down, with Mira’s leg bouncing anxiously while Zoey twisted one of her fidget toys. They had said they got together not long after the idol awards, and didn’t want to make their much needed bonding time with Rumi all about them instead.
Rumi felt a pang in her chest, as well as bile in her stomach from all the churning. She doesn’t understand why, why she cares so much that they are together. She shouldn’t care, not like this.
“Is that okay?” Mira had asked, voice guarded but eyes shining with vulnerability.
“Of course it is.” Rumi had replied, pulling them into a hug.

Summary
“Thank god for women in STEM,” Violet mumbled, although it was in such a way that was so hushed and breathy that Caitlyn wasn't quite certain whether or not she had meant to say it out loud.
Caitlyn remained silent for a few seconds, ever so slightly confused, before finally deciding to speak up on the matter– to break the thick wall of ice even further.
“I'm sorry?” she asked, prompting the advancement of the conversation a tad, consciously making an effort not to allow the atmosphere to become awkward.
“When they told us we’d be working on a project with the game devs, I thought I'd be paired up with one of those sweaty guys in your class,” she explained– still not looking, but instead rolling her mouse against the table, clicking open a variety of softwares and tools that Caitlyn wasn't very familiar with.
But then, all of a sudden, her neck snapped sideways, attention now focused entirely on Caitlyn.
“You're a lifesaver, you know?” she teased– allowing the spread of a grin to make its way onto her round cheeks, teeth bared and everything.
