He heard the vampire in front of him hum before he raised the bowl to his lips— “You know you need to allow others to help you.” —he almost choked on it, not from the absurdity of her comment but just how it seemed… irrelevant at the moment.
“Cleo, I’m just drinking soup…”
The vampire scoffed, “I meant other things, like you being sick! You literally boarded up your door as if you were in a zombie apocalypse!” They shook their head then waved a hand. “But— I don’t mind spoon feeding you too if that’s what you need!” she let out a hearty laugh as the Doc just huffed and cleared his throat loudly.

Summary
The smell reached him before the sight did, smoke, sharp and bitter, laced with something older than fire. By the time Legundo saw the castle, it was already burning. Holy water hissed in the air, the night itself turning against him. And through the flames, he saw Owen, crawling, burning, still reaching.
He should’ve stayed back. He didn’t.
Later, when Martyn faced him at the treeline, sword slick with ash, Legundo’s voice came out quiet, almost gentle:

"For the last time, Marty, my wife is not a bloody crab! Gods, you've been hanging around Sausage too much…"
