Summary
Myles just barely survives the slaughter of Galidraan and is patched up out of pure spite so he can be sold off into slavery with the Mand’alor. After a few stymied escape attempts, he and Jango settle down into slavery, quietly planning and biding their time until a good-enough opportunity shows up.
And then someone just rescues them, which was not entirely expected.
And no, he and Jango are not high on spice, they’re always like this. At least… on the inside.

It had seemed the best thing to do, when faced with a recently freed child who cries out for his mother in his sleep. Naboo is so close to Tatooine. It's barely out of their way at all. Two days added to their trip back to Coruscant, maximum. If they leave the Nabooian celebration early the Jedi Council won't even notice.
Of course, with Obi-Wan's luck, everything takes a turn for the worse. Anakin's dreams about his mother prove prophetic. Sith burn half of Mos Espa and their ship with it; chase them into the desert, into increasingly dire straits.
He starts dreaming of his soulmate again, too, as though he needs the extra complication.

Jango seemed to despise the Jedi for some unknown reason.
"Don't tell me what I do or do not want," he finally bit out. He watched as the bounty hunter slowly turned on his heel. "I know we both aren't happy about this, but…" The fiery snap of emotions stopped him from saying more. He knew if he said one more word then Jango would shoot him where he stood. His arm pulsated with heat that emitted from the brilliant colors of his soul mark.
"You have your Order to go back to, little jetii," Jango spat out. Disgust covered each word and dropped heavily around them.
