And just like that, the memories of last night came crashing back to him. The pub, being sick in the bathroom, ending up at Cliff's bedside, desperate for comfort from his memories. A poorly timed joke about choking. A woman’s voice coaching him to breathe over the phone. Cliff helping Ilya into pyjamas.
Fuck. He had some explaining to do.

Ilya carries trauma from finding his mama long after she’s gone. Ilya’s PTSD explored through his and Cliff’s friendship over his years as a Boston Raider.

Summary
Shane shuffles his feet, nervously. “So, I met your mom. She’s really nice.”
Rozanov’s eyes cut to him and there’s something in there that Shane doesn’t understand. He hates how bad he is at reading people’s faces, especially now that Ilya is looking at him like he has said the worst possible thing he could say, instead of trying to make nice small talk like he intended to.
“What did you say?” Ilya asks.
Shane flinches and this time he is sure Ilya didn’t miss it. Rozanov’s cutting gaze is making his skin crawl in a way that makes him want to run and hide. He swallows hard and, with everything in him, he holds Rozanov’s gaze.
“I said,” Shane’s voice is shaky. “I met your mom. She’s really nice. We talked for a little while, before the figure skating started.”
“Is this a joke?” Ilya’s voice cracks on the last word. “Are you playing some kind of sick joke on me?”

“Go on.” She takes a delicate sip from her glass of white wine, and it makes Shane wish he’d ordered something more than sparkling water with lime. Stupid performance diet. Stupid hockey.
“He keeps asking me for details about the sex we had.”
“Like you and me?” Rose asks doing a little finger dance between them as she does.
Shane nods.
“Is he jealous?”
“Maybe, but like he knows it was bad and wants to know why it was so bad and all that,” Shane explains. “He won’t really say why he’s asking all these questions about it. I’m not even sure he knows.”
Rose gets a contemplative look. “Is he like floating the idea of a threesome?”OR
