Summary
The marriage of convenience fic no one asked for.
The morning after the Netherfield Ball, while Mr Collins is proposing to Elizabeth, Mr Bennet collapses. With her father unconscious and apparently near death, her mother pressuring her to marry Mr Collins, and the gentleman himself ignoring her protests, suddenly saying 'no' is not so easy. Faced with poverty and homelessness if she continues refusing, the gossip soon reaches Netherfield that she will have to marry Mr Collins. Just as Mr Darcy is about to mount his horse and follow Mr Bingley to London, never to return, he overhears the servants talking. The thought of Elizabeth married to a fool like Mr Collins is unbearable to him, and he resolves to make her a better offer. But, when she refuses him, he finds that he's willing to do anything for love - even marry her without the hope of being with her.

Summary
Sequel to Red Cross, Red Star.
American Red Cross nurse Steven Grant Rogers (omega) is tired. His fated Alpha has dragged/carried him through what feels like all of France in the middle of the second world war while on the run from the Nazis. Or possibly the Americans- it’s not really clear. His Alpha doesn’t really talk about things like the past. Ever. Which is understandable given the healed head wound and the giant metal arm.
But all of Steve’s plans go kaput when it turns out that his mate is called an “Avenger” from another world. A world where WWII has been won already. And it’s 2024 there, not 1944.
Going with him to this new world seems like an obvious choice since he’s pregnant and has no family to support him back home. Now he has to contend with not only a new world and the culture shock that comes with it, but it turns out his baby is ‘special’ because of Alpha and his health isn't the greatest to start with.
His pregnancy will be difficult. The deck is stacked against him.
But he's been told he wouldn't survive the winter before. Many, many times, in fact.
It's just another story of Steve Rogers spitting in Death's eye.
