    Steve didn't like Tony Stark.

    Stark probably didn't like Steve, either. They'd gotten off on the wrong foot, and that was putting it mildly.

    And having to pretend to be a civilian Stark was dating, as cover for trying to save Stark's life while Iron Man was busy with a SHIELD mission, obviously wasn't going to help.

    “Five?” Klaus breathes, his hands no longer glowing as Ben fades from corporeality, and Klaus wouldn’t be sure if Five even heard him if his brother didn’t go completely still. 

    Five turns around slowly, knife still in his hand, and he, like everything else in the room, is covered in blood. His eyes are the wildest Klaus has ever seen them, like a rabid tiger, and Klaus doesn’t feel like he’s looking at his brother, which he knows is illogical but still. Klaus gulps as those wild, raging eyes connect with his own, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. 

    It’s the most gruesome scene Klaus has ever laid eyes on.

    Klaus can't let it happen again. Ben was bad enough, but if one of the other ghosts take his body for a test drive, who knows how many people could get hurt. So he just needs to stay awake. Simple.

    And if Ben's words - 'You’re gonna have to fall asleep eventually.' - keep echoing in his brain, well, what the hell does Ben know? Death makes liars of us all, in the end, and Ben was no exception.
