"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)

“Hey, Wyldfyre? When’s your birthday?” He asked with such intense curiosity, it made her nervous.
Wyldfyre paused. There was that word she didn’t know!!
“What’s a birthday??”

Or:Wyldfyre never celebrated her birthday because she doesn’t know when she was born. And dragons don’t ‘do’ birthdays. So, Kai decides it’s time to take matters into his own hands.

Summary
The Absolute Solver has been defeated. The nightmare is finally over. Yet even as exhaustion from the ordeal overtakes him, N finds himself unable rest, overwhelmed by memories of the day's events. One among them in particular refuses to leave him: the moment Uzi had sacrificed herself to save him. Even with her safe and sound at his side, N cannot shake the feeling that act stirred within him. He could only think about how angry and helpless it made him feel.
