And Ilya doesn’t know how he didn’t recognize him sooner, probably due to the alcohol and the lights and the makeup and the clothes and the fact that six years had passed and he had been smiling so damn much, something Ilya doesn’t think he ever or rarely saw him do before. But here, in his bedroom, hungover and half naked in the cold light of day–
“You’re Shane Hollander,” Ilya realizes.
A strange look crosses Shane’s face. He pauses.
“You remember me?”
“Of course I remember you, you’re Shane fucking Hollander,” Ilya says, leaning up on his elbows, “You were second drafted the year I was first. You won fucking rookie of the year and then you…”
“Disappeared?” Shane offers dryly.
Or, Shane and Ilya never hooked up, and Shane left the NHL after their rookie year. Six years later, they meet at a club.

Summary
Robby always remembered the man who studied with him in med school. He’d first met him at a bar dancing freely like nothing could hurt him. He saw him pick up another man and leave with him and envied the courage he had. When he saw him in his medical course he picked up the courage to get with him.
Abbot always remembered the wounded man he'd picked up in the Desert. A British soldier who had escaped captivity. He’d helped nurse him to health. And soon the two became entangled.
Robby always wondered what happened to the man, he just disappeared one day. Abbot wished he didn’t know what happened to the Brit.
So when a med student appeared looking like the man they both lost it’s too good to be true.
Dennis just wants to die. Hopefully when he’s not undead. So why does he have to spend this last hurrah tortured by the only people he’s ever loved.

Dennis is a suicidal vampire trying to die as a human. And on his last attempt the two attendings from his past are put on his path .
