Summary
Cas has been without his powers for months, and while they're stuck in a lull on fighting Abaddon and finding Metatron, Dean decides that maybe it's time to take Cas on a little road trip just the two of them. A chance to show Cas some of the good things about being human; to taste and to smell, to touch and to see. A road trip full of surprises to diners and aquariums, because all Dean wants is for Cas try things and to see him happy. Maybe this road trip will help Dean to get over the fluttering feeling in his chest. Or maybe, just maybe, that feeling will explode until it consumes him whole.

The man doesn’t look scared. He is watching Dean like there is nothing else worth watching, lips a little parted, eyes a little soft. And blue. Real blue, like the ocean on a postcard.
The ice spreading down Dean’s spine makes him shiver.
“I suppose you could say I’m your guardian angel,” the man murmurs. His breath fogs pale between them. All of him is unnaturally warm, like Dean’s touching somebody with the sun sewn up beneath their skin. “I have known you, Dean Winchester, for a very long time.”
