“I’ve been looking forward to meeting you, your partner said you were out of town for a while and wasn’t sure when we’d get a chance to meet.” His voice was as sweet as honey, dripping over Hao’s skin. He couldn’t help the way his eyes traced those soft lips, the muscle bulging out of his shirt, and those eyes that seemed to sparkle in the early morning sunrays. What had gotten into him? He’d never ever looked at a stranger in that way. He pinched his thigh to get out of his weird trance.
“I wanted to ask a few questions and to give a proper introduction if you have the time?” Hao nodded quickly, trying to get it over as quickly as possible so he could go home. “Perfect! Yujin-ah, you can put your stuff away and draw for a bit while I talk to your dad okay?” The tone of voice that he used with Yujin, it stirred happy bubbles to his inner omega, that his future mate got along with his pup.
Wait a fucking second.
Did he just say… Future mate?
When did his inner omega decide that this was gonna be his mate??

His freedom is a concept that has lied out of reach for him since he was first captured, as he never assumed that there would be any other way for his story to end: the scientists on the ship made it clear he would be trapped in America until his new owners grew bored with him and severed his life at any moment they deemed fit. He wished for freedom, naturally, but as his time on the ship lengthened this wish changed. It seemed unfathomable to leave Hao behind when Hanbin was growing more convinced that they belonged together. He wanted Hao to always be with him, to brush a hand through Hanbin’s hair or pinch his cheek or smile at him in that soft, amused way he does. Two rivers running in parallel to each other until their time of confluence.
