    Edward would do anything for his family. He had to, after Hohenheim fucked off to God knows where, knowing that Resembool was fucking infested with those cold-hearted, blood-sucking vermin. Without his father, Ed took up the role as the sole protector of his home.
    Until a vampire killed his mother and ripped half of his limbs off. Because Ed was too fucking weak and fell for a shitty hypnosis. He got automail limbs to replace the ones he lost.
    After the surgery, Ed threw himself into vampire hunting. For years he searched the woods for those creatures that he could take out his anger on, earning himself the name Fullmetal Vampire Hunter. It worked for him too, until Alphonse got caught and trapped by one vampire by the name of Roy Mustang.

It's a reunion coloured with assassination attempts and street urchins and fireworks in the night sky, but, luckily for these two, Xingdu is a place where things come full circle, where the new rises from the ashes of the old.
