“What was that about?” Sasuke asked.
Naruto took hold of Sasuke, two hands clutching just above Sasuke’s elbows as his wild eyes searched Sasuke.
“You weren’t home.”
After a pause Sasuke asked, “Where did your real body go?”
“The path you took when you left the first time,” Naruto answered honestly.~
Post-war, Sasuke returns to the village with Naruto. Naruto has PTSD from Sasuke leaving (in the original series), leading him to grow more and more anxious that he'll lose Sasuke again. Meanwhile, Sasuke has made the choice to stay by Naruto's side, but Naruto's anxiety only seems to get worse.

Summary
Sasuke was not the stalking type. He was use to attracting attention from both girls and guys, even though he preferred the latter. He never had to watch the person he was attracted to. He didn't do little eye flutters and smiles to catch the person's attention. No. Fucking. Way. He didn't need to. But ever since a tall & muscular blond came into the coffee shop Sasuke worked at, all of his previous claims went straight out the window into a dumpster fire.

Even worse than that; somehow, the ten-second long clip got edited into a ten-minute long compilation video of various content creators suffering from the same game's many jump scares.
And even worse than that; the compilation was sent as a watch recommendation in Uzumaki Naruto's chat.
Sasuke has been obsessed with a certain streamer for months, though he would never admit that to anyone beyond his friend group. So what? It's not his fault that the guy's a fucking dream. And he'd been comfortable in the discomfort of the situation, glad to just carry that secret with him until this fixation either died or moved onto someone else.
That was, of course, until said guy discovered his existence.
From then on, Sasuke was just fucked.

Summary
Admitting defeat after the Valley of the End is surprisingly easy. Going back to Konoha to face his punishment is easier than he thinks it should be.
His punishment, when it comes down, is not one Sasuke expects, but it is once he can accept. Any "punishment" that includes staying with Naruto hardly feels like a punishment at all, even if it means altering his designation to do it.
