Blessing...he loathed how the golden apples, his apples, were called that. He didn't see them as a 'blessing'. They were a curse. These people's obsession with them was invasive, unhealthy, burdensome. They believed they were owed them as much as they believed they were owed a piece of Dream. Believed that they were the answer to every little problem, never once bothering to understand or respect the true nature.
What about that sounded like a 'blessing'?

How long had it been since this all started?
Since the first Infected stumbled into the world, bringing chaos with it?
Felt like years. Years that could actually be mere months. Either way...felt too long. Too damn long.
Days blended together. Each one containing the same routine: wake up, sneak around, find food, eat when possible, check for bites, hide, search for medicine (just in case), be wary of fellow survivors, maybe bathe, find a place to sleep, check for scratches, make sure the coast was clear, sleep.
Rinse.
Repeat.

“What is it big guy?” Killer asked, his once chipper voice now wary as he squinted his eyes in the direction Horror was staring at.
His eyesight was always poor, (now more than ever thanks to the determination pouring from his sockets.) so he stepped forward to get a better look. He was careful to be cautious as he summoned a knife, the magic buzzed faintly, trying to hold its shape as if it were unstable.
Horror stopped him before he could walk past, blocking him with his axe all while never taking his eye off the shadowy cover of the trees.

Cross went along with it. Because that was the dynamic, right? They were partners. They were in this together. And if Killer wanted to be hurt, if Nightmare wanted to hurt them, then Cross could be the buffer, the one who took half the punishment to make sure Killer didn't go too far.
