SPOILERS FOR ONYX STORM!!!
After Andarna leaves, Violet is distraught and barely coping. She's catatonic. Andarna was her light, her colour, and now that she's gone, everything is monochrome. Her colour has gone.
This slight rewrite focuses more on Violet's struggle in that first week as we see her inner turmoil as well as the worry of her friends and family, scared that she won't survive the loss of a dragon. Everyone chips in to look after her because what else can they do?
(I feel like everyone moved on far too fast over this part of the book but it broke my heart)

Penelope was standing at the edge of a cliff, debating if she should fall. She knew he was baiting her. Why he was baiting her, she didn’t quite understand yet. At the end of the day, whether it was the alcohol, the endless sense of frustration, or moreso just the idea that she had nothing left to lose, she decided to leap.
“I wasn’t. I wasn’t thinking of them when I drank.”
Colin turned his head away from her and looked out at the street in front of them, a smile pulling at his lips. “No? Well that’s interesting.”
“Is it?”
He faced her again, taking half a step forward. “Who were you thinking of?” His eyes drilled into hers with surgical precision, the dark blue getting darker.
She took a deep breath, feeling the blood heating in her veins.
“You.”
“Me?”
She nodded pathetically, any attempts to be playful and witty blown away with the breeze.
“You want to fuck me, Pen?” His smirk was subtle, but wicked, his words sending a delicious zing down between her legs again where she throbbed at even the notion.
