Viktor has liked Jayce in every way possible for years.
Jayce, unfortunately, has been in a long-term committed relationship for over a year. And from the way Jayce has been acting lately, the stumbling and stuttering and the fancy outfit and the outline of a ring-box in his pocket--it doesn't take Viktor a degree to figure out Jayce's plans. But this day isn't an ordinary one, for when they're about to close up the lab an unexpected visitor changes both of their lives forever.Loosely inspired by the plot of The Proposal (2009). Semi-canon to the show. You don't have to have watched the movie to read this! I'm just crediting the inspo for the premise.

Hongjoong hid his frown by taking another drink of coffee, shifting his gaze to the doorway of the break-room.
Park Seonghwa stood there, in the door-frame, with all his sharp-eyed, tight-shouldered, I-am-clearly-better-than-you glory. There weren’t many people Hongjoong could honestly say he couldn’t stand being around in his lifetime.
Park Seonghwa was one of them.
Until a chance encounter made Hongjoong realize that Seonghwa sometimes wears skirts and- well, the image won't leave his head.

Summary
Pack.
The word stirred something deep and aching in Seonghwa’s chest. He’d watched them from behind fences, from village edges, and from the safety of chains. Wolves who moved together, slept together, and fought together.
“I won’t stay,” he promised quickly. “Just—please. Let me rest.”
Hongjoong straightened, gaze flicking briefly to the other two. They waited on him, tension coiled tight.
“You get three nights,” Hongjoong said. “Until you can walk.”
Hope flared so bright it hurt.
“After that,” Hongjoong continued, voice hardening, “you leave. You are not pack.”
The words landed like a reminder, sharp but fair. The pain stung, but Seonghwa couldn't be mad. He wasn't pack. Relief crashed through Seonghwa anyway. His chest heaved, breath shuddering.
“Thank you,” he whispered.

Or. Seonghwa was raised as a pet -- a dog. He was born a wolf. Strong, elegant ... easily submissive and easy to train. Except, one day, he is chased from the only place he knows as home. They had the other dogs attack him.
He didn't know how to survive on his own. He was barely a wolf. He knew nothing of pack dynamics or even how to hunt.

He yawned, rolled over, and buried his face in the pillow with a content sigh—
Then, he froze.
This wasn’t his bed.
The pillow under his cheek was satin, not silk. His shelf of carefully arranged figurines wasn’t in sight. The air smelled faintly of sex and grapefruit, not his usual jasmine diffuser. And most damning of all, there were arms—strong, firm, familiar—wrapped snugly around his waist.
Taking inventory of the evidence, dread pooled low in his stomach. His sleep-addled brain working slowly but steadily to process the implications of what had been done.
Please, this is a bad, bad dream. A nightmare. Please. This can’t be real. God, please.
But when he felt the unmistakable brush of Hongjoong’s hair tickle his nape, lips pressed against the knob of his spine, he already knew what had went down.
Oh no…
What have I done!?
OR
Kim Hongjoong and Park Seonghwa are divorced. At least, they try to be.

Summary
Professor Viktor doesn’t like prof Jayce Talis. He’s too loud, too confident, too self-centred. He’s been at their university for less than six months and already earned the nicknames ‘golden boy’ and ‘man of progress’, despite being Viktor’s junior by a couple of years.
Safe to say, Viktor doesn't want to have anything to do with Jayce, but a chance encounter in the lab might prove they have more in common than they initially thought.
