    Summary

Rhys calls in his bargain with Feyre, whisking her away from her wedding. Their bargain gives him one week to show her who he really is, what his court is all about, and he decides to make the most of it.

Rhys's actions at the beginning of ACOMAF don't make a whole lot of sense. By the time he shows up to crash Feyre's wedding, the mating bond has snapped into place for him. Presumably he wants to win her over and show her a broader picture than what she knows of his court, and of him personally. He also wants her to help him with the threat from Hybern, which would be another reason to at least try to be nice to her. Yet he spends a lot of their early interactions taunting her and arguing with her, if not outright insulting her. Seeing how nice he was to Gwyn and other characters later on, it seems doubly weird that he's such a jerk to Feyre, especially knowing how traumatized she was and how fragile her mental health is at that moment.

This fic imagines what it would be like if Rhys made a concerted effort to win Feyre over during her very first visit to the Night Court, rather than having a few uncomfortable reading/shielding lessons with her and then leaving her alone during most of that time.
