[Gender-Neutral-Reader x Spock comfort fic. Past trauma is not described, so specifics about reader are very vague/neutral hopefully allowing everyone to enjoy reading.
Warnings and Disclaimers: This has in depth descriptions of mental health issues (a lot of negative self talk in early chapters that may be triggering), self harm (not anything heavy but still body abuse), and of panic attacks. These won't be experienced the same for everyone so this is just my take.
As a sufferer myself, in no way when writing this am I meaning to romanticise or belittle mental health struggles. It is an ongoing battle that does not have a simple solution. I write about topics in hope that I can bring at least a little bit of comfort to others who are struggling with similar issues.]

“You did not tell your T’hy’la of the bond?” The Ambassador of Vulcan had an ice cold countenance. If Sarek were capable of making his voice biting with rage, and they were so inclined, that is how the Vulcans present may have described the outburst. Otherwise it read as a more diplomatic explanation of disappointment or betrayal.
Spock glanced at the various other Vulcans present before explaining that, “The Captain is not Vulcan. He has no reference for such things. It would have been improper to impose the knowledge of it on him.” Spock steeled himself to meet the Captain’s eyes. “Certainly not when he would have no choice in the matter - due to the legal ramifications of its destruction or refusal.”
“You would allow him to refuse?” Sarek was apparently not calming down.
Or in the process of the longest diplomatic conference in the history of the Federation Spock has to diffuse a situation of his own making.
