Megumi feels like a plant sometimes.
Which probably doesn’t make much sense in reality- but he doesn’t know much about how plants work so it makes sense to him.He wonders if plants ever hinder their own growth clinging to decaying roots that could easily be replaced with new ones- new ones that would sustain them instead if they just allowed it.
He wonders if they let themselves rot so they don’t have to change- so that they don’t have to say goodbye to the only thing they’ve ever known.Sometimes he wishes he were a plant.
Plants probably don’t have to think about their roots and which ones are necessary for growth.
They grow or they wither without having to contemplate how.Megumi thinks he might envy them.
Or
Megumi watches his friends grow after and despite everything.

"'But it’ll be so lonely without you, Fushiguro.'
Those words should have resonated within Megumi. But then, he remembered that boy in June. The boy he met, who had no idea what Jujutsu was. How dumb, naive, and hopeful that boy was before the Juvenile Detention Center. Before Shibuya. Before... this. All because of Megumi.
There was no way Itadori would be lonely if Megumi were gone. He’d be happier, enjoying a simpler life where he didn’t have to worry which day would be his last.
He’d be happier if they had never met."
