-- The look in Tony's eyes was...horrified. "Uhm, *seriously* kid? You want IRON MAN to learn to, what, knit?!" Tony's mouth just hangs open for a second, how anyone can put that much lost dignity into staring out of one eye is kind of a marvel, Peter thinks to himself.
"No. No way. No, no, no way. This is what little old ladies do while they sit in rocking chairs and watch cooking shows. Nope. I'm not doing it," Tony continued to shake his head, though he was still holding onto the yarn and the crochet hook, as if they've been fused to his hands. --
Post End-Game fix-it fic, part of the Endgame Homecoming series. You do probably need to read at least Hospital Visit for this one to make sense.

-- "And, Tony, you can't just keep running around like you're twenty-five years old anymore." She took his hand in hers at that point, clearly seeing that he wanted to disagree with her, but even he knew the truth of what she was saying, much as it displeased him.
Before she could continue, he interrupted. "I-I know, Pepper, but, what do you want me to do? I can't just sit around at home doing...nothing. I'll go insane!"
Smiling fondly at his words, she couldn't help but tease, "What, you mean, *more* insane?" Earning her a chagrinned smile from Tony.
"Well, yeah, but we call it 'eccentric' since I'm rich enough to afford the luxury of not being called crazy," he said with a roll of his eyes and a grin. --

A few minutes later, Peter felt a slight hiccuping inhalation from Morgan, and she tilted her head back to look at him again, those eyes, huge and brown and *so* much like Tony's it almost hurt the teenager to look into them.
"Uh-uh. That's Daddy's chair. He won't let Uncle Rhodey sit in his chair, he teases him and tells him it's not for plate-pusses. I don't know what a plate puss is, so maybe I'm one, too. Daddy and I always sit in his chair when he reads me stories. I don't know if we can sit in his chair...with-without---" And Morgan was once again wailing into his shirt.

Tony is still in the hospital post Endgame, and Peter has recently come to live at the cabin. Morgan needs comforting in a world that has gone sideways. She knows exactly what Spiderling to seek out for help.

All three of them looked...hideously guilty.
