Eyes widening, I struggled for a moment, gasping and wheezing before giving in to the growing dizziness, sinking to my knees, collapsing on the floor. But the dizziness and nausea weren’t the worst part, neither was the feeling of suffocating, with the bullet ripping a hole in one half of my lungs.
The worst part was the pain."After getting shot by a patient, Whitaker finds himself bound to a hospital bed, forced to accept help he feels like he doesn't deserve.

Summary
Dennis Whitaker has been working at the Pitt for a few weeks now. Despite a rough first day, he manages his every day life pretty well. Or at least he felt like he did.
When a patient reminds him a bit too much of his younger self, Whitaker finds his buried feelings to be resurfacing. Not only that but the urge to make himself bleed becomes once again overwhelming. As he feels like his own mind was suffocating him, he receives an unexpected helping hand from his attending.OR
Whitaker falls back into a self destructive state and Robby finds out about it.
