Summary
He Xuan and Hua Cheng had lost their loves and slowly forgot their faces and different memories. Knowing that They wouldn't be reincarnated, the two go about doing their ghost king thing until something broke.
Fast forward to 2025, Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan are university graduates of fine arts and dance respectively. They've been graduated for two years and still nothing. The two are struggling artists living together in a studio apartment and working at the same café. After a night of innocent revelry, a message appears in Qingxuan’s DMs that changes the lives of the four. Shi Qingxuan and Xie Lian are forced to face trauma they had suffered while suddenly gaining new powers as their popularity grows. He Xuan and Hua Cheng Struggle with trying to figure out why they are drawn to those two specific mortals. They are faced with a new threat as they run into an unlikely enemy who has his eyes set on Qingxuan.

Many times Xie Lian had asked himself the same question: at what exact moment had he shattered beyond recall?
Was it the day the wooden stake pierced his heart? No.
Was it the darkness of the coffin, thick with his own clammy blood, that destroyed him? No, not that either.

The first blow across his cheek for a wrong reply?
Perhaps it was the day the Emperor's hands first ventured beneath his inner robes, and his vows were broken (ripped out, crushed, butchered, and flung into the mud)?
But more often, Xie Lian blamed the day he gave up.
Or: Jun Wu rescues Xie Lian from the coffin, only to imprison him in the Palace and hold him hostage. Eventually, Xie Lian escapes with the aid of an unknown ally and turns up in Ghost City, concealing his name and appearance.
This fanfiction is meant to be an exploration of post-traumatic recovery. There will be a lot of pain, but also good things!

Summary
