Summary
The shadows seem to thicken ahead of him now, melding together into a dark mass, writhing and squirming. Rationally, he knows it is just the copse of trees standing sentinel around the graveyard, branches shifting with the wind above, but his pulse still spikes. Get a hold of yourself, Illuga he thinks and shakes his head roughly. He continues on, one step in front of the other, and is almost about to turn away from the graveyard and continue his journey when he spots it. Another light, shining through the darkness and fog, glimpsed in a gap between the trees. Illuga breathes in sharply, pulse rabbiting. He's not alone.
Illuga is a young police officer, desperate for something to happen for him to prove to his father that he is capable of more than the same old beats. An old face returns to the city, bodies rise from their graves, and a string of disappearances mean horror is the taste on everyone's tongues. He should be careful what he wishes for.

Summary
On the run from an unsuccessful theft attempt, Cipher tries to hide from her pursuers in what she hopes is an empty house. The noble lady, Aglaea, who owns said house is less than pleased with this choice. However, she gives Cipher a proposition: to work for her. It's an easy decision. So Cipher begins her new job as an informant, relaying news from across Amphoreus back to Aglaea, in between her noble adventures (burglaries). Over time, she can't help developing feelings for the other woman, despite wishing to never be tied down to one place again.
Aglaea twisted round to look at the flowers behind her. “Those, do you like them?”
The yellow and white colour of the petals could only make Cipher think of Aglaea. Even the trumpet shaped petals in the centre reminded her of the sleeves Aglaea currently wore. She nodded, mutely, without really thinking. Aglaea’s lips lifted, and she got up to go over and pick one of the flowers, coming back to slot it behind Cipher’s ear. It twitched as Aglaea’s fingers brushed past the soft fur. Cipher wondered if Aglaea would notice her cheeks warming.
“It suits you,” was all Aglaea said before she returned to her seat.

Summary
“No matter. Mydeimos also told us of how he lost the signet ring a gave him in the sea of souls, and how Phainon found it again and returned it to him-”
She is cut off by a loud gasp from across the table. Audata’s hands fly up to cover her mouth as Hieronymus fumbles with his plate but manages not to drop it as well. “Phainon gave him a ring? And a family heirloom, no less?” Audata sounds vaguely faint.
Now it is Gorgo's turn to be shocked again. One of these occurrences alone wouldn’t be terribly significant, but both? In addition to the general closeness and understanding between the pair that was obvious for anyone to see, it painted a damning picture. But the question now was were they already married or simply betrothed? This presented the final piece of evidence, Gorgo was now convinced. Those two boys had, at some point, gotten married. And not thought to tell anyone?

Summary
Four figures walk into a bar, like the start of a bad joke. Mostly because this is not a bar at all, but rather a pub on the south side of London. Bad joke is debatable.
Or the new year pub fic you didn't know you needed
