"Exile still seems the best option, Stoick..."

Stoick should have known better. While he didn't know much about his son-especially now-he knew the boy was clever. It should have been no surprise when a guard burst into the Council Meeting and revealed that Hiccup had escaped the cell Stoick put him in...hours after the boy was revealed to have saddled a dragon.

Hiccup is gone, and so is the beast.

They search, but do not find him. Berk falls asleep one night and awakens in the Great Hall, where the torches come to life and cast an image of their isle on the wall, from which floats Hiccup's voice, years younger.

AKA, Hiccup forfeited the final challenge, leaving Astrid with the right to kill the Nightmare. Story picks up in the Race to the Edge era, except Berk never learned the truth of dragons, no one knows how Hiccup really lost his leg, and stories of a hooded 'vigilante' riding a Night Fury have been long whispered...and Berk will see it all unfold.

Stoick the Vast and Berk watch How to Train Your Dragon...and beyond.

    Summary

Agatha and Sophie realise quickly that ‘going home’, and ‘living in Gavaldon for the rest of your miserable existence’, aren’t quite the same thing.
With the barrier between Gavaldon and the Endless Woods permanently damaged, they’re offered a chance to return to the School, for what the Deans promise to be a ‘new and improved!’ and ‘much more serene!’ second year. Agatha doesn’t exactly believe them; but there are reasons why they might consider going back. A few...
    Well, anyway.

Every family has its share of silly hobbies. Wizarding families might be a bit more eccentric than average. For the Weasley family, it is their propensity for mischief. It's a story of how encouraging each other's pranking tendencies helped save the universe.

    Summary

“A killing curse is a good motivator don't you think? Mother dead and father in Azkaban. Poor little, defenseless, desperate Draco.” The dark lord continues, his wand under Narcissa’s chin.

Draco’s blood runs cold. He knew where this would go. The dark lord's threats were never empty. Draco’s mind was blank, voice hoarse as he sees the dark lord lift his wand - for another crucio or the killing curse when -

“AVADA KEDAVRA!” Draco yells, not letting the dark lord have time to even utter the first syllable of the next curse.

    Summary

How will Sirius react to his death? Would he grieve? Would he scoff, disgusted at how weak his little brother had once again proved to be? Would he be relieved that Regulus was finally gone? Would he cry, if not for Regulus now, for the child that he had once cared for? Or would he not react at all? Would he glance at the paper, shrug, and go back to his morning tea?

Loathe as he is to admit it, that’s the idea that frightens him the most. Sirius had been his everything once. (Maybe he still is, not that Regulus would ever admit it to himself.) And he likes to imagine that once he had been as important to Sirius as he was to him, at least, before he had gone off to Hogwarts and met the infamous James Potter. Before Regulus had been sorted into Slytherin, just like the rest of his family, and any hope that his brother may have once had for him had faded away in an instant.

Or: To escape a life he doesn't want, Regulus tries to kill himself. It doesn't go according to plan, but sometimes that's the best thing that can happen.
