“You’ve built something here,” Jack tells Rose on a planet with an eternal night. She keeps her eyes on the horizon, still waiting for a daybreak that will never come. They are two immortals with a ship full of people who will leave them, by choice or not, and somehow she cannot feel the same dread that she sees in Jack’s eyes, that she saw in the Doctor’s sunken cheeks when he told her that she would wither and die. Maybe she is still too young.
