"Buck already said I don't have to go," Chris all but yells, pointing to his dad when Eddie turns to look at him. "And Buck can't just go by himself. What if that Charlotte lady is rude to him again?"
Buck rests his chin on the palm of his hand, smiling sweetly at Eddie. "Yeah, Eddie. I can't go alone, you heard what Chris said."
Eddie's shoulders slump, his face falling into that kicked puppy look again. "But it's my first day off tomorrow," he tries. "Can't you like, invite Maddie?"
"Oooooh," Chris sings, holding his hand over his mouth. "Someone's gonna be on the couch tonightttt~"

"No," Eddie says, shaking his head when the officer looks over his shoulder to Chim. He lashes out, grips the Officer by his button down uniform, shakes him and forces him to look at Eddie. He bares his teeth, heart battering the same way it did in that damn New Mexico hospital. "You're looking at me right now, do you understand? You're answering my questions. Now tell me, where is Buck?"
After New Mexico, Buck's house burns down, and he's nowhere to be found. Eddie promptly loses his mind.
