Patrick Brewer had never set foot in a craft store before. He’d had absolutely no reason to. His mother was into crafts but he wasn’t an artsy person—he didn’t paint… or crochet or… do whatever it was people did with felt. Visual art had never been his thing. Other than music, a hobby he’d effectively dropped when he started university three years ago, Patrick had no creative outlet. He needed a creative outlet.
That’s what his therapist said anyway.
“Why don’t you take an art class?” She’d suggested during their second meeting.

On the bright side, she was here. On the material plane. Blue sky and green grass and birds and plants and she had a plan!
Karlach had gotten through step one of her plan swimmingly; 'get far away from anything with tentacles' . That part had actually been pretty easy. Well, except for the almost dying in the crash bit.
Step two was also going pretty well. Well the 'not burning anything down part at least'. Which meant all she had left to do was—

Then a man walks past him, he looks at him, and a swooping sensation in his gut says yes. It isn’t the vampire part of him. He’s just… really pretty. Really Martin’s type. Short and small, neat and well put together, tired and professional, with perfect posture and a quick, impatient stride. He looks like he works in an office. He looks about a decade older than Martin. He looks important, and dignified, and hot. In that very particular way that Martin’s always been into.
Not that… not that attractiveness should have anything to do with picking a meal. Oh, it sounds bad to call people meals. Victims? Even worse.
Martin should in fact not pick this man, specifically because of how attracted he is to him. It would be the responsible thing to do.
