He sees them again.
As toddlers - Bylead tottering after his sister in a clumsy line, his grip on the table edge, his expression solemn and stern.
As five-year-olds - Byleth running ahead of her brother, pausing every now and again to offer him a hand when he stumbled.
As teenagers - Byleth at her brother’s back, bearing the weight of a man’s weapon, ensuring Bylead’s safety and maneuverability, allowing him to reach over her for a counterattack.
Jeralt smiles distantly. He was not fool enough to believe himself a wonderful father but he’d done what he could to ensure they survived. To make sure they would open their eyes to the next dawn. That they would walk side by side to whatever future awaited them.

Summary
Obito arrives a few moments earlier when Rin jumps in front of Kakashi’s chidori. He’s still too late to save her, but he’s in time to watch the sequence of events that makes Kakashi shatter. Instead of returning to Madara, he chooses to live by his own mantra and refuses to abandon his friend in his time of need. Obito returns to Konoha with Kakashi, and this results in just a few unintended consequences. One of them being his insistence that he should be allowed to care for his late sensei’s orphan son, no matter what the Sandaime might say about the matter. He’s not quite sure how Kakashi becoming his unofficial co-parent fits into this, but he’ll figure it out eventually.

Suho stepped closer, trying to find his words. "I don't want to argue, but the fish seemed pretty fond of you today." Sieun's lips perked up just a tiny bit, in a timid smile. Enough to make Suho's heart beat faster.
Where Suho finds an unconscious boy by the shore, and everything changes.

“It says that all of the condoms have a silky smooth lubricant for comfort and sensitivity,” Sieun continues, reading off the back of the variety box carefully, “There’s even a flavored kind. I don’t really like green apples though.”
Something about the earnest, slightly trembling look on Sieun's face sends Suho over the edge.
He bursts out laughing.
Sieun makes a muffled, indignant noise from the back of his throat. Suho keeps laughing, tears pooling in his eyes. Green apples. Sieun doesn’t like green apples.
“Why are you laughing?” Sieun's cheeks are bright red. “Is safe sex a joke to you?”
Or, Suho and Sieun take their relationship to the next level.
