Summary
Lucifer winced. He shifted on the sofa, pressing his back against the arm of it as he lifted a hand to dig his thumb into the hard knot of muscle between his neck and shoulder. He didn't know why, but he felt like he'd spent the entire day lifting heavy tyres and moving them to a different location, and he twisted in place as he tried to roll both shoulders out.
His squirming did not go unnoticed. Alastor's gaze flicked up, crimson eyes briefly narrowing in silent question, but when Lucifer said nothing about it, he returned to his book.

Summary
Most people didn't manifest the mark of their soulmate right away. Oh, sure, it happened – it had happened with Lucifer, before anyone had known what a soulmate even was, before anyone had realised such a thing was possible for angels – but it was pretty uncommon.
And it was absolutely possible for it to break – or fade. It was pretty unlikely on Earth, hardly ever happened during the span of a regular human life – but when the souls in question were immortal? Yeah, sometimes things changed. Relationships grew distant, love degraded. Once you'd experienced the bond fading – or worse, breaking? – no, most people were a little wary about throwing themselves into a new relationship.
*
Lucifer has experienced having a soulmate. Alastor has never been interested in the concept. Something is dreadfully wrong, because Lucifer is seeing shadows move out of the corner of his eye - and Alastor's claws are glowing golden.
Shit.

Summary
Vox has been trying to get an axe in the door of the adventurer's guild for years, but all the best jobs end up going to adventurers with more experience than him, but he's finally found a job. Eliminate the curse in Castle Carmine.
The only problem? Apparently, the job can't be done alone.
Enter Alastor. An egocentric half-elf here on his own mission, and whether he's seeking money or glory, Vox doesn't care. He's the partner Vox apparently needs for this job, and they're going to have to learn to work together if they want to unravel the mystery of this castle. At the very least, Vox figures the guy will be decent canon fodder if it comes down to it - if he doesn't throttle him for his attitude first.
As it turns out, there are some things you can't go through without at least becoming friends. Just friends, right? And watching your life flash before your eyes as you hang over a pit of spikes with only the hand of your unwilling travelling companion wrapped in the back of your shirt to keep you safe - well, that's one of those things.
Vox is pretty sure his heart's only beating so fast because of the whole nearly dying thing.
Probably.

Summary
Lucifer loved bubble baths. Of all the human inventions, they were probably one of his favourites. He loved the way the warm bubbles around him looked like tiny clouds, and maybe that was something he should unpack in therapy but he didn't really see the need.
Yeah – he loved bubble baths.
Alastor did not.

Summary
Velvette’s perfectly manicured nails tapped at her desk, one after the other. It was rhythmic and solid, a constant tak-tak sound echoing through the room. Anyone who knew her well should know that she didn’t drum her nails on her desk for no reason – they were too expensive – so that sound was a clear and present sign of danger.
That danger: her irritation.

Or: Velvette has the opportunity to work with somebody she's only ever wet dreamed about, but her ego gets in the way of things running smoothly. Verosika is playing her own game

Summary
Alastor was not a man particularly fond of getting 'gussied up' for no good reason. He plucked at the lacy undergarments he was wearing, careful not to catch any of the delicate threads on his claws, and grinned at himself in the mirror.
What a lucky man Lucifer was. That Alastor would go to such lengths: his neck wrapped in a collar of silk, sheer stockings on his legs and his arms and a chest piece that revealed more than it hid currently tickling his scars. He lifted his chin and turned in place, tail wiggling above the lacy band of the barely-there set of undershorts he had on – if they could even be given such a name. His ass was almost entirely on display, an asset he'd never considered as one of his strongest, but Lucifer certainly seemed to enjoy it.
*
Or: Alastor has a proposition for Lucifer - and for Vox. Made entirely out of the goodness of his heart for the benefit of the hotel, of course. After all, it's not like he wants to see that useless Picture Box again.

Summary
In the seaside kingdom of Orena, keeping a court merfolk within one's castle walls is not only a symbol of status - it's expected. King Lucifer is no exception, and when he's gifted a beautiful, crimson merman, he thinks this creature will be a wonderful addition to his currently empty aquariums.
The only problem?
This merman won't sing.
This merman is spiteful and rude, and seems entirely ungrateful for the life he's been lucky enough to splash into. Lucifer needs to consider a few things: is Alastor really the problem, or is the entire system in need of upheaval?

Summary
It was the anniversary of the day Lilith had left.
Not something Alastor had ever seen himself caring about, but Lucifer's steadily growing low mood had weighed on him as though it were his own, and he knew this sort of thing typically cheered a man up. He was no fool. Besides – it was rather fitting, wasn't it? Presenting Lucifer with such a memento on such a day? He had no need to remember his absent wife, not when Alastor was around.
Rosie gestured towards the chaise lounge. “Alright then. Let's see what we're working with.”
*
Or: Alastor has a rather unique idea to soothe Lucifer's upset mind. A boudoir photoshoot might not be a traditional kind of 'cheering up' tool, but it ought to do the job, no?

Summary
Lucifer's pale face was covered with red streaks, blood highlighting his hair and painting his lips. His blue eyes were wide with terror as he stared up at Alastor in mute incomprehension, his chest rising and falling as quickly as a hare caught in a trap. The beam of light cast by his flashlight darted over Alastor's frame as his hand shook and trembled, tears shining on his lashes.
Alastor lifted his hands, his own heart lurching into his throat, and Lucifer let out a whimper as he saw the red covering Alastor's palms. The amusement that had been bubbling in Alastor's chest had curdled, guilt crawling in to replace it as Lucifer took a few unsteady steps backwards.
Away from him.

Summary
A whisper. A well. A warning. A welcome.
Alastor is not particularly popular within his village, his oddities and his solitude working in tandem to drive others away. When he stumbles upon an ancient, forgotten well in a clearing bare of life, he does not think much of it.
Until the dreams start.
In his dreams, Alastor can taste starlight. He cannot escape the sensation of feathers and scales, something altogether inhuman curling around his body. He’s not entirely sure he wants to. When a stranger shows his face in the village, the wind parting around his pale features and carrying the rustle of the invitation Alastor’s dreamt of, how can he do anything but follow? He has never been a particularly religious man.
But perhaps that is due to his lack of somebody worthy to worship.
*
Or: Alastor finds and releases a long-sealed cursed spirit and says 'would'.

Summary
Baxter prided himself on his ability to measure things to their exact variable. To predict the result of an experiment with over ninety-eight percent accuracy based on the observations he'd made so far. He did not often put himself into situations wherein he was not at least eighty-three percent certain of the outcome. Even the battle at Vee Tower had fallen within those margins, and whilst he had only given Velvette a fifty-nine percent chance of showing up, he had at least considered the possibility.
Situations with less certainty than that eighty-three percent made him nervous. He had tried to gather more data, but whilst Niffty was undeniably charming, she was also incredibly unpredictable. Baxter did not like unpredictable things.
At least – he thought he didn't.
*
Or: Baxter takes Niffty on a date. It ends... about as well as you'd expect.

Summary
Alastor is having a terrible, horribe, no good, very bad day. Or week. He's in a bad mood and every single person around him seems to be conspiring to make that worse, be it Rosie, Husk - or Charlie. The one person he can count on not to make it worse is Lucifer, but can he really risk his own black mood jumping into a man that's so susceptible to them in the first place?
That's not his choice to make.
Lucifer wants to help, and the traffic light system is useful for more than just illicit activities.

Summary
Chaos has struck the Hazbin Hotel. Worse than a war, worse than a murder - it's theft. Theft of the highest order. Theft of a carefully, lovingly baked cake. With Vaggi despairing over its loss, there are only two people capable of solving this crime. Or - one person and his very enthusiastic assistant.
Alastor will get to the bottom of this, weeding out lies and false alibis, pinning the guilt on the right person. Hey, it sure beats sitting in on another art therapy class.
But just who could the thief in their midst be?
Everyone's a suspect. Even Alastor himself.

Summary
It felt like a bad dream, watching the King of Hell flapping his wings outside the huge window Vox had planted Alastor in front of, right before leaving to 'take care of more important matters'. A cosmic joke – that he would show up now, a look of almost absent curiosity on his face as his gaze roamed over the flashing LED's and the reflections of Pentagram City below.
A bad dream – or a nightmare, for Alastor's throat roiled with bitter bile when those eyes finally managed to pick him out amongst the other distractions. Lucifer's face lit up in a smug grin, the king drifting closer – close enough to tap on the glass like Alastor was some creature in a zoo.
His lip curled. He shouldn't have reminded himself of the phrasing.

Summary
Vox had always known Alastor would be the type to go for 'cruel and unusual' punishment, and he should have figured that same logic would apply to the concept of revenge. He had tried to wipe the guy off the face of Hell, after all. It was hardly any argument that Vox was fully prepared to murder-suicide his way into that success, because he knew Alastor had never seen the merit in Vox's 'if I can't have you, nobody fucking should' argument.
Oh yes, he'd always known Alastor was a fucking psychopath. It was part of what made Vox's heart beat just that little bit faster, just being close to that level of insanity. Somebody who could not only match, but exceed his freak.
He probably should've said 'had made' his heart beat faster – given... you know. The whole 'head without a body' thing. Except Vox had a body. Or, to be more accurate, Alastor had Vox's body, which brought him around full circle to 'cruel and unusual punishment'.

Summary
It started as a faint itch. A slight tickle between Alastor’s shoulder blades, the kind of irritation he could reach back and rub absently away with a careless scrape of his claws. It wasn’t anything particularly unusual; given the temperature of the realm they resided in, sweat was very nearly a given, and even somebody who’d been down here for almost a century could sometimes feel the heat.
*
Alastor is experiencing what can only be phantom pain, because he certainly doesn't have anything between his shoulders that should be causing him issue. His lover, on the other hand...

Summary
It was beautiful. The most perfect place Alastor could possibly imagine, and he doubted there was anything on Earth that could ever meet its splendour. He didn’t need to be told where he was, though he might venture to ask how he’d gotten here; but that question could wait, for he was too lost in admiring his surroundings.
The sky was a perfect cerulean blue, with pink tinging the horizon and strands of gold seemingly brushing over what few clouds marred its stunning expanse. Pleasantly white, puffy things, all of them sitting low enough that their undersides reflected the pink glow of the setting sun, and Alastor was only sorry he seemingly hadn’t arrived in time to see the sun itself.
It had been too long.

Summary
Lucifer didn't do anything by half-measures, and when he told Alastor he'd created their very own honeymoon suite at the manor, Alastor had expected something rather ostentatious. Unnecessarily grand, filled with everything a newly married couple could ever think they'd need and then realise were completely useless.
The fact Lucifer seemed to have added an entirely new wing to the manor, complete with motifs of apples and antlers – it genuinely moved something within him. Something that might still be tender and raw from the quaint little ceremony they'd shared, their exchange of vows done where only Charlie could see – and the girl had been sworn to silence, never to reveal the honesty she'd witnessed.
*
The hardest part of the wedding is over - the ceremony itself. All that's left for the two of them is to indulge, to consumate their marriage as if they haven't been living in sin (hah!) for the entirety of their relationship.

Ha! You think you can actually block me, you old fuck? I could pull a better web design out of my dirty knickers!
It was the same kind of message he'd been getting for the past week. Always something about how old his interfaces looked, how unintuitive the designs of his social media platforms were. It wasn't like it even mattered, surely – people hardly used social media for anything more than looking up their favourite porn actor or visiting ValHub, so why should he care? Why should anyone care?

Or: Vox's first time meeting Velvette.

Summary
“Double bass,” Vox murmured into Alastor's ear, static darting over his waist where blue claws gripped him tight. Vox's signal was warm, soothing – but filled with a certain restless energy, his good mood buzzing against Alastor's skin.
Alastor nodded, prepared for the strum of strings when they joined the melody of the band as his steps followed Vox's. He was content to let the other man take the lead – for now. Particularly given the fact that Vox was keeping an eye on things for them, smoothing out Alastor's nerves before they even properly managed to twist themselves into a panic.
*
Months after the events that saw Alastor's deal broken, Lilith brought low and his freedom secured, Alastor still has some things to deal with. It was bad enough when he couldn't stand to walk into an elevator - but to be afraid of live music? Something must be done.
Luckily, his clever Picture Box has been thinking up a solution.
