He’s waited all year for summer to come for him and now that it’s here he finds himself still waiting--the sun bathes Sirius and Remus in golden light and James is in the shadows, James has been pining after some goddamned fresh air and just looking at his best friends leaves him unable to breathe.

When James and Sirius return from their freshman year of college, Remus isn't sure how much has changed: he's been working the same dead-end gas station job while they've escaped their small town, and though they're happy to see him, all three of them know James and Sirius are going back to college as soon as they're able.
