    “Oh, I was thinking about going with someone,” Sasha says all flirtatiously, and she bats her lashes– not at the camera, but towards Anne, grinning like a maniac. Anne smiles at her back, and something lurches in Marcy’s gut.

    Before she has the time to dwell on the sensation, however, she’s thrust back into the center of attention as Anne looks back at the camera, eyes big and brown and almost hopeful. “What about you, Mars?”

She clapped her hands on her white knee-length dress as if she had just walked through a dusty library. She looked at the clock on the wall and counted the minutes, seconds. She looked at the city through the huge window in the living room. Soon Sasha and Marcy would be home from work and college respectively, and things would be completely different.
    If all went well, they would no longer be her girlfriends, but her fiancées.
